Takeaways from the Episode
1. MODEL TRANSPERENCY BEFORE SKILL
If you want to minister effectively you have to be authentic about who you are and what is going on in your life. You don’t have to be perfect, but you do have to be real. Modeling transparency helps people see that growing in the skill is possible even if you’re not perfect at it.
2. PRACTICES TO AVOID BURNOUT
Go for a walk or a run almost every day. Have a close friend in your life who will encourage, pray, and challenge you. Physically get on your knees at the beginning of every day to remind your soul that this day belongs to God.
3. LISTEN TO THE RANDOM NUDGINGS OF GOD
Never underestimate the power of the small things God is asking you to do. He could be using you to change someone’s life. It’s the ability to say yes in the small things that gives us more opportunity to advance God’s Kingdom.
4. YOUR ABILITY TO SAY YES
If you want a simple and yet profound metric for monitoring the development of your heart, ask yourself this: “When was the last time you said yes to God?”
