Takeaways from the Episode

1. Nothing will have a more profound impact on your heart than the consistency with which you pursue Jesus.

Face it, nothing we do in life will have a more profound impact on our hearts than the time we spend pursuing Jesus. John 17:3 talks about eternal life in this way: “Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” When we spend time knowing God and resting in being known by God, our hearts are shaped and formed into a greater image of Christ’s.

2. Elevate the Conversation

Josh points out that one of our ways of being at Young Church Leaders is to be about having the conversations no one is having. Even if it’s awkward. We want to have the hard conversations about heart health and make sure that the conversation gets the attention it needs. That’s one of the things we feel called into, and one thing we will never give up doing better.

We’re focusing on three major aspects of heart health in 2018: Emotional Health, Accountability, Time with God. Watch out for our January month where we dial in on self-awareness and emotional health!

3. 2018 Will be all about community!

We believe that everybody is better in a community and so, we want to prioritize community in 2018. One of the core ways of being for Christians has always been to do life together. Even though we are a community of people from around the world we value each others’ insights, opinions and experience. So 2018 will be all about growing the community and encouraging everyone to participate in discussions and forums. The easiest way for you to do that? Head on over to Facebook and search for our group: It’s a private group and we want all of you to be part of it! Let’s keep this conversation going.
